Basheer A. Chowdry,
Managing Director
Mr. Basheer A. Chowdry started his banking career in 1963. He is a gold medalist from Punjab University and holds a Diploma in Banking. He is a member of the British Institute of Management, the British Institute of Directors, and the Institute of International Affairs, London. For the last 59 years, he has acquired vast banking experience in commercial, investment banking, international banking and the consumer financing business and has played an active role in the regulatory evolution of the financial sector of Pakistan. He has held senior positions at the Bank of Credit & Commerce International, United Kingdom and has established and managed banks, modarabas, investment services entities and non-banking financial institutions. Besides serving as Chairman of the NBFI & Modaraba Association of Pakistan, he has been a Director on the Board of the Karachi Stock Exchange and participated in the development of its Code of Corporate Governance. In addition to serving as a member of the NBFI Restructuring Committee of Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan and the steering committee of the United Nations Development Program, he has also served on the boards of commercial banks, Islamic banks, investment banks, insurance companies and various corporate entities.
Kamran M. Wadiwala,
General Manager
Mr. Kamran M. Wadiwala has over 16 years of in-depth experience in several jurisdictions. His professional career began with Ernst & Young in Audit, Advisory Business Services and he has subsequently worked in diverse industries including Banking, FMCG and professional consultation in accounting & commerce. Moreover, he has been recognized as a Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts, United Kingdom and attained a Master of Commerce from the University of New England, Australia. He specializes in Financial Reporting, Audit and Taxation.
Asif Akber,
Manager Audit and Advisory
Mr. Asif Akber has over 19 years of experience spanning the Financial Services, Insurance, FMCG and Hospitality industries. Previously, he worked at Ernst & Young for 6 years in the Business Risk Service and the Audit & Assurance Team, where he has worked and led assignments for Forensic Investigation, Internal and External Auditing, Risk Management, and Financial Reporting. He is associated with the Institute of Charted Accountants of Pakistan and a graduate from the University of Karachi.
Usman Habib,
Manager Audit and Advisory
Mr. Usman Habib has over 10 years of experience with a multi-functional expertise in numerous jurisdictions. Previously, he worked at KPMG for 5 years where he has led internal and external audit assignments in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. He specializes in the Manufacturing, Real Estate, and Oil & Gas industries and has additionally worked on engagements in the Aviation, Automobile, Stock Exchange & Brokerage, FMCG, and Health industries. He is associated with the Institute of Charted Accountants of Pakistan and a graduate from the University of Karachi.
Adeel Malik,
Manager IT Audit and Advisory
Mr. Adeel Malik has over 6 years of divested experience in the field of IT Audit, Information Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance - Cybersecurity and InfoSec. He started his career with Ernst & Young - Pakistan in Technology Risk department where he worked on multiple clients locally as well as internationally. He graduated from Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) and did PGD (Post graduate Diploma) in Cybersecurity. Later he acquired reputable certification CISA and also ISO 27001. He specialises in banking, healthcare and financial non-financial sectors.
